20 Smiles
for 20 Years.
Created by Abe Jawando with Victoria’s Smile Foundation, the initiative marked a personal milestone by sponsoring maternal care for 20 beneficiaries at a time.
20 Smiles for 20 Years was not simply a general VSF campaign. Abe Jawando established the project as a focused act of giving, working with VSF to sponsor groups of 20 women through the practical realities of pregnancy, birth and early motherhood.
The initiative raised £10,414.42. VSF’s cumulative contribution record for Abe is £10,514.42, including £100 connected to Walkathon 4. Those funds enabled timely medical, nutritional, transport and practical support through VSF’s maternal-care pathways.
The programme record documents 18 live births. Two families also experienced pregnancy or baby loss. VSF honours those babies and families with care and never reduces their journeys to a fundraising statistic.
The legacy of 20 Smiles lies in showing what one committed supporter can make possible when giving is connected to a trusted delivery pathway and continued follow-up.
