Mrs Ajila was signed on at 5 months pregnancy on 20th July 2022. She lived in Lagos State but she had to move down to Akure to be with her parents for proper care. She presented to the hospital with lower belly ache and we were informed that she was initially advised to have a cerclage put in but she declined stating that her husband disagreed to it. She was adequately counselled by the hospital psychologists and an emergency cerclage was done. She spent some days in the hospital for observation before she was discharged. We provided food items for her bi-monthly and she required a special diet as she couldn’t eat a lot of the food available in her locality. Payment was also made for medications, cerclage and other items that were needed. She eventually had the baby through a C-section on 22nd of December 2022. The baby was named much later in January and VSF supported as is customary. Regular checks are still ongoing through phone calls and messages.
