These are stories of women who navigated infertility, pregnancy loss, financial pressure and high-risk pregnancy. Each record remains public with the family’s consent and is presented as part of VSF’s programme history. MASTER Ayodele Emmanuel
Mrs Michael was our first beneficiary. Her reality made us realise the enormity of the task before us, including the heart-breaking fact that many of the women in our pilot state were living in conditions unfit for humans talk more of pregnant women. A subsistence farmer who worked alongside her husband; yet received little to no emotional and sufficient financial support from him. She was 20 weeks gone when she became a beneficiary of the Foundation. Our preliminary investigations were disturbing as we discovered that despite her condition and history of miscarriages, she was involved in the strenuous tasks involved with subsistence farming. Similarly, she shares a one-room apartment with her husband’s other wife and four other children. We were also appalled by reports that she had been subjected to physical and emotional abuse. We arranged counselling for her and her husband. In line with our needs-based approach for our beneficiaries, we took care of her medical bills, bought her maternity care items, and provided food items till she gave birth. She gave birth to a baby boy! Earlier this year, we organised a surprise birthday party for her son!

MISS Deborah Iyinloluwa
We met Mrs. Babatunde Justinah Folakemi during the late stage of her pregnancy. Her family had fallen on hard times, and things weren’t going well financially. During our preliminary investigations, we discovered that one of the reasons she lost her previous pregnancy was that she was admitted to a poorly-equipped hospital. We decided not to take any chances. As our beneficiary, Mrs Bababtunde was admitted to the well-equipped Mother and Child Hospital in Akure, one of our healthcare delivery partners. Efforts were made to ensure she receives the best maternal care to aid a smooth delivery. To alleviate the stress on the mother and the baby, we also provided a hospital bag filled with delivery and other essential items. We’re pleased to report that Mrs. Babatunde successfully delivered a baby girl through vaginal birth. In line with our operating procedures, we constantly communicate with the mother and the newborn.

MISS Moyosoreoluwa Naomi
Mrs Rhoda Olatunji became a beneficiary on 9th August 2022 when she was 32 weeks pregnant. We were informed that she did a cerclage because of her incompetent cervix; this is to ensure that the baby is kept in the womb for as long as possible without bearing down on the cervix. She has limited movement so as not to put pressure on her cervix, therefore she had to stop working. Due to her condition, we buy her food items twice a month and we make sure that all her medical and other financial expenses are covered. We also made a refund for the cerclage and other drugs that were bought prior to taking her on. The baby came as a Preterm through a Cesarean section and had to be incubated for weeks. She was christened in the hospital and they were eventually discharged when the baby was healthy enough to come out of the incubator. VSF made payments for all bills incurred by the mother and the child and a stipend was also given when the baby was 6 weeks old. Regular checks are still being made on the family.

MASTER Samuel Oluwatimilehin
To this day, Mrs. Alabi’s experience remains the most startling. At 32 weeks pregnant, she joined the Victoria’s Smile Foundation but had to deal with the added complication of a fibroid growth and a stomach ulcer. Her doctor advised a C-section, which the Foundation funded, along with providing a maternity bag for mother and baby. The infant was born with a fractured arm that required a cast, which has since been removed. We are delighted to report that both mother and child are doing well.

MISS Deborah Aduragbemi
On the 13th of October 2023, Mrs Ayodele Rebecca Bukola became a beneficiary of the Victoria’s Smile Foundation at 32 weeks into her pregnancy. She had experienced both a stillbirth and a miscarriage before enrolling in our program. Our organisation provided comprehensive medical care, including all medical expenses and food, under the supervision of medical experts at the hospital. Mrs Ayodele also received a Maternity bag containing various necessary items for delivery and post-birth care. The baby was born via Caesarean section and was kept in the Nursery for an additional two days to monitor her for Jaundice. The baby was discharged when the possibility of Jaundice was ruled out. Our Foundation maintains contact with the family to ensure their well-being, as we do with all families under our care.

MISS EREOLUWA PRINCESS
Mrs Roseline Daudu’s life was a series of unfortunate events until she stumbled upon Victoria’s Smile Foundation, a non-governmental organization that helped to transform her life. She was six months pregnant when she became a beneficiary of the foundation on the 13th of July 2022. When the team visited her one-room apartment in a storey building, they noticed that mosquitoes might pose a threat to her health and that of her unborn child. Roseline had a torn mosquito net that she used, which the foundation replaced. She was also given food items twice a month, and the foundation paid for all her medical bills. Despite these efforts, Roseline’s health continued to deteriorate. She suffered from general malaise and weakness and was advised to take glucose and milk regularly. Victoria’s Smile Foundation provided the necessary funds for these items. On the day of delivery, Roseline underwent a C-section, and the foundation paid for all the bills. She gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, and the foundation provided a hospital bag containing all the necessary items for both mother and child. The foundation didn’t stop there. The team participated in the Christening of the baby girl and continued to give Roseline her bimonthly stipend as promised. They also regularly checked on the mother and child to ensure their well-being. Thanks to Victoria’s Smile Foundation, Roseline’s life changed for the better. She went from being a struggling pregnant woman to a proud mother of a healthy baby girl. The foundation provided her with the necessary support and resources to help her through a challenging time in her life. She will forever be grateful for the kindness and compassion shown by Victoria’s Smile Foundation.

Miss Genesis Ayomide
Mrs Ajila was signed on at 5 months pregnancy on 20th July 2022. She lived in Lagos State but she had to move down to Akure to be with her parents for proper care. She presented to the hospital with lower belly ache and we were informed that she was initially advised to have a cerclage put in but she declined stating that her husband disagreed to it. She was adequately counselled by the hospital psychologists and an emergency cerclage was done. She spent some days in the hospital for observation before she was discharged. We provided food items for her bi-monthly and she required a special diet as she couldn’t eat a lot of the food available in her locality. Payment was also made for medications, cerclage and other items that were needed. She eventually had the baby through a C-section on 22nd of December 2022. The baby was named much later in January and VSF supported as is customary. Regular checks are still ongoing through phone calls and messages.

MASTER Daniel Ifeoluwa
One of the most compelling examples of the impact of Victoria’s Smile Foundation’s work comes from Mrs Odunayo Aderemi, a 27-year-old teacher living in a rural community in Ondo, Southwestern Nigeria. Mrs Aderemi had experienced a devastating stillbirth during her first pregnancy, but with the help of VSF, she was able to have a successful delivery with her second child. When VSF first met Mrs Aderemi, she was struggling with the emotional aftermath of her previous loss. Medical records showed that her baby had been lost due to foetal distress, and VSF was determined to ensure that this wouldn’t happen again. Throughout her second pregnancy, VSF’s Program Officers visited her regularly to monitor her progress and ensure that her living conditions were as clean and hygienic as possible. The organization also provided financial support to alleviate any stress or difficulties that arose during this time. On February 10th, 2023, Mrs Aderemi was admitted to the hospital for delivery. An ultrasound revealed that her baby was in the wrong position and too large for a natural birth, so she underwent a successful C-section on February 14th and delivered a healthy baby boy. Both mother and child are now thriving, and VSF continues to provide support to them as they navigate this new chapter in their lives. Mrs Aderemi’s story serves as a powerful reminder of the impact that organizations like VSF can have on individuals and communities. By providing crucial resources and support, VSF was able to help Mrs Aderemi have a successful pregnancy and delivery, and ensure that she and her child are healthy and thriving.

Master Marvelous Rejoice Kayode
Mrs Kayode experienced a Stillbirth at 9 months; mismanaged at a hospital. Registered for the second at MCHA and when pregnancy was 7 months, she fell seriously ill but Doctors at MCHA were on strike so she was advised to go to Police Hospital. They gave her too much Intravenous injection and the baby came out as a stillbirth. She miscarried the 3rd at 4 months. She is now blessed with a baby boy.

MISS Similoluwa Wonderful Ayodele
Mrs Ayodele Doris became a beneficiary after battling 12 years of infertility. She came on board when she was 7 months pregnant on May 24, 2023. The Foundation provided everything necessary to make her pregnancy journey smooth. She had her baby via a Caesarean section on 6th July 2023. All her medical bills were paid and the baby was christened with the support of the Foundation.

Master Akron Olamide Suleiman
On the 3rd of May 2023 Mrs Akanmu Oluwafayokemi became a beneficiary of Victoria Smile Foundation. She was four months pregnant at that time. The foundation funded all her medical bills and also provided her feeding allowance bimonthly she also received various baby items for delivery. A few weeks to her delivery she became ill and was promptly taken to the hospital. After examination by the doctor, she was diagnosed with malaria and was given some treatment. The doctor advised she give birth as soon as possible to prevent the baby from being infected with malaria. She was induced in the evening two days after her first visit to the hospital. By the early hours of the following day, she was transferred to the labour room, and by the early morning she delivered. The foundation supported her with cash gift after delivery because they had nothing to take care of the baby. We still maintain contact with the family to ensure their well-being.

Master Alexander John Simon
Cecilia Simon came on board as a beneficiary when she was 7 months pregnant on 14th May, 2023. Her 1st miscarriage was at 4 months and four others at 1 month plus. The Foundation paid for all her medical bills as well as feeding allowances. Close to her EDD, another scan showed that the baby was underweight but when she fell in labour, the baby came and he was healthy so there was no need for incubation. She had a vaginal birth on 10th July and it was a baby boy.

MASTER Simon Adeola Akanmu

MASTER Oluwasegun Oluwadamilare Arowolo
Arowolo Oluwadamilola journey happens to be a compelling one. She came on board when she was four months pregnant. She was just healing from the recent loss of her baby who died due to foetal distress. At the time we came across her, the husband had just lost his job and she was not working as well. The future of the baby and the journey of the pregnancy looked bleak. When narrating her previous experience we realized she had lost two babies at birth due to foetal distress which resulted from lack of proper medical care. The first thing our foundation did was to ensure she received comprehensive medical care. In addition, she received a regular feeding allowance, baby items for delivery, and post-delivery and counseling as required. It was discovered that she had a small cervix which could pose a threat to the survival of the baby if she attempted natural delivery because this could stress the baby, a condition referred to as foetal distress, little wonder she lost the two babies. This information necessitated the need for an elective cesarian section in the 38th week. The Cesearian section was paid for by the foundation. The surgery was postponed till the next week because of the nationwide strike which disrupted the hospital system. On the 19th of September, the surgery was carried out successfully. VSF was able to help Mrs Arowolo have a successful pregnancy and delivery. Mother and child are healthy and thriving.

MISS BEST ORIREMIDE AJIBULU
Mrs Ajibulu Morenike became a beneficiary on the 5th of May 2023. She had previously suffered infertility and had a miscarriage. Our program officers came across her on one of her visit to the antenatal clinic. She was 4 months pregnant. The foundation supported her throughout the pregnancy by funding all her medical bills, providing her with feeding allowance and baby items. After one of the visit to her house we realized she didn’t have a proper mattress and this could endanger the pregnancy. The foundation purchased a new mattress befitting for a pregnant woman. She was initially scheduled for natural delivery but when she was 41 weeks gone she experienced a distressing situation which took her to the hospital. After being examined the doctors discovered she was leaking amniotic fluid a condition highly dangerous to the well-being of the foetus. This made the doctors carry out an emergency cesearian section and the surgery was successful. To be a mother had always been her dream as she was known to be a teacher and lover of children. VSF is glad to be a part of her dream come true.

MASTER Philip Oluwadarasimi Amos
Mrs Amos Ifedayo came on board when she was eighteen weeks pregnant. A forty-year-old woman who had suffered infertility and miscarriage. At the time we signed her into the foundation she was a low-income earner and her husband was a farmer. The foundation funded all her medical bills and also provided her feeding allowance. Before her delivery, she received from us the delivery bag containing various baby items. She was scheduled for an elective cesarian section due to her age. The surgery was funded by the foundation. She had a successful surgery. The baby had jaundice and the foundation funded all the medical expenses for treatment of the baby. Mother and baby are doing fine

Miss Onumsinachi Grace Madubugh
Mrs Juiliet Madubugh joined the foundation as a beneficiary when she was 7 months pregnant. She had previously lost a baby after delivery, had a stillbirth at 6months, and miscarriage at three months. The foundation ensured she received proper medical care and paid for her medical bills. We also supported her feeding and gave her delivery bags which contained baby items and items for the mother. At 38 weeks she was in labour. She was taken to the hospital and the following day she delivered. A day after she was discharged the baby developed jaundice she returned to the hospital with the baby and the baby was kept under close examination until she was declared jaundice-free. The foundation also paid for the treatment of the baby. VSF is proud to be a part of her success story

Miss Arabell Oluwaremilekun Oluwafemi
Mrs Oluwafemi Mercy became a beneficiary on the 23rd of August 2023.She was six months pregnant when she was signed on the program.She had previously suffered a stillbirth at 9 months and had another stillbirth at 6 months.At the time VSF met her she was uncertain and afraid about how the outcome of the pregnancy will be because of her previous experiences.What we did for her was to councel her and reassured her that it was going to be a successful outcome. We advised her to stop working to reduce stress because she was also attending school at the time of the pregnancy. The foundation paid her medical expenses and she also received feeding allowance bi monthly. Few days to her EDD while writing her exam she fell into labour and was rushed to the hospital. By midnight she delivered a baby girl.It was indeed a fullfiling moment for both the parents and the VSF team.The Christening of the baby was done at her school residence because the mother continued with her exams after delivery.

Mrs Ojuloge Deborah became a beneficiary of the foundation when she was six months pregnant. She had previously endured five miscarriages all at one month. The foundation funded all her medical bills and also got her different baby items for her delivery. We ensured she got regular feeding allowance which was provided by the foundation. On the 1st of November she fell into labour and was rushed to the hospital. After some hours in the labour room she delivered a baby girl. Mother and Child are healthy and Thriving.

Master Oluwajomiloju Oluwatimilehin Adeniyi
Mrs Adeniyi Christianah came on board when she was seven months pregnant. She happened to be our first physically challenged beneficiary. She had once suffered a miscarriage at three months. Our foundation ensured she got proper medical care. We paid for all her medical expenses and also ensured she got preferential treatment when necessary due to her physically challenged state. She was scheduled for a Cesearian Section at 38 weeks because of her age. At the time of her pregnancy, she was 42 years old. On the day of her elective Cesearian Section. The theatre got busy for hours and her surgery was postponed to the following day. The surgery could not be conducted on the following day because of some hospital bureaucracy, however, on the third day, the 23rd of November 2023 the surgery was successfully conducted and she delivered a baby boy. VSF is glad to be a part of her success story to motherhood

Miss Odunayo Omofolarin Abidemi -Ojo
Mrs Ojo Abidemi Oluwatosin became a beneficiary of the foundation on the 26h of October 2023.She was seven months pregnant when she was signed as a beneficiary.She had an history of infertility for Seven years.And the pregnancy happened to be her first since she got married. Victoria Smile Foundation paid all her medical bills during the pregnancy and after delivery.She also received feeding allowance regularly from the foundation.All the baby items for the delivery was provided for by the foundation.On her last antenatal visit to the hospital she was scheduled for a Cesearian section which was two weeks from that day.A week before the schedule date she began to experience some discomfort,she went to the hospital and upon examination she was taken into the theatre room and the baby was brought out.She delivered a bouncing baby girl. Mother and child are thriving and VSF is glad to be part of her success journey to motherhood.

Miss Rachel Toluwanimi Oluwayemi
Mrs Oluwayemi Oluwabusola came on board on the 9th of August 2023 when she was four months pregnant..She had just gone through a surgery to remove fibroid which had prevented her from getting pregnant. She suffered infertility for Seven years. The foundation sponsored all her medical bills and also gave her feeding allowance bi- monthly. She also received different baby items for delivery. Along the journey of her pregnancy she complained of having body aches which was as a result of the bad mattress she was sleeping on.The foundation immediately replaced the mattress with a new one and the body aches ceased.As she was nearing her EDD the doctors advised that a C section be carried out to bring out the baby as the baby was too big and also in a breech position.Her husband refused initially because he wanted a natural birth.Our team called the husband to councel him to allow the doctors do their job as they are experts in their field. A few days after his wife fell into labour and the doctors said it would be a Cesearian section procedure.We councelled him again and he finally agreed to allow the doctors do the C- section.She gave birth to a baby girl on 26/12/2023.Mother and child are doing fine.

Mrs Ikechukwu Tomisin came on board when she was seven months pregnant on the 14th November 2023.She had previously suffered three miscarriages. The foundation took care of all her medical bills and ensured that she never missed any of her antenata clinic.She recieved feeding allowance bi- monthly from the foundation.Fee weeks to her delivery we learnt that she was expecting twins babies .The foundation decided to double the baby items in the delivery bag that was presented to her. The doctors scheduled her for a Cesearian section because of the position of the babies in her uterus.The operation was successful and she delivered twin baby girls on the 16th of January 2024.This happened to be the first baby of the year 2024 and also the first twin babies in the history of Victoria Smile Foundation.VSF is proud to be a part of her success journey to motherhood.The babies are healthy and thriving.

MISS EMUESIRIOGHENE TESTIMONY
Pregnancy Story of Akpobome Evenlyn Mrs Akpobome Evenlyn became a beneficiary when she was 8 months pregnant.She was signed on the program at one of our sensitisation outreach at the University Medical Teaching Hospital Akure on the 13th of December 2023.She had endured five miscarriages in the past. She was also suffering from chronic hypertension at the time we met her .This condition warranted a close observation and regular antenatal visit.She was put on bed rest in the early stages of the pregnancy because she was vomiting blood a condition she developed as a result of the hypertension The foundation paid for all her medical bills and ensured that she didn’t miss any of her antenal clinic.We also monitored her closely by checking on her regularly and giving her councel and encouragement. The doctors where able to manage her till the 38th week and she was scheduled for a Cesearian section.The surgery was successful and she delivered a baby girl on the 19th of January 2024. Mother and child are doing well.

Miss Hephzibah Oluwatoyin Diekolopemi Anifowose
Mrs Anifowose Bose became a beneficiary on the 22nd of January 2024. She was seven months pregnant when she was signed. Two weeks after signing her she began to have contractions. She had previously experienced same at seven months pregnant which led to a stillbirth. The baby at seven months was pushed out abruptly while she was still on bed rest and the baby came out dead. This time around she visited the hospital immediately and when the doctor saw her and reviewed her case a decision was taken to bring out the baby by Cesearian Section whitout any further delay. An emergency Cesearian section was arranged for the following morning. The foundation paid for the C-section and all other hospital bills including paying for the rhogam shot she received 12 hours after delivery because of her negative rhesus blood factor, this is to prevent future miscarriages. In addition, she received delivery bag from the foundation containing various baby and mother items. The surgery was successful and she delivered a baby girl on the first of February year 2024. Master Emmanuel Iyanuoluwa Oluwafifehanmi Oluwafemi
Mrs Oluwafemi Grace came on board on the VSF Sensitisation day at the University of Medical Science Teaching Hospital Akure Ondo State. She was 8 months pregnant at that time and had previously had a miscarriage. The foundation sponsored her feeding till the time of her delivery. She also received delivery bag containing various baby and mother items. She didn’t experience any sign of labour as at her expected delivery date. By 42 weeks she started to have regular contractions. She visited the hospital and was placed on admission. After 24 hours at the hospital labour was not progressing. The doctors decided that a Cesearian section be carried out to prevent any harm that could happen as a result of prolonged labour. The foundation paid for the C- section and all her medical bills during and after delivery. The surgery was successful and she delivered a baby boy on the 2nd of February 2024. Mother and baby are thriving.

Miss Oluwadahunsimi Aboluwade
Mrs Aboluwade Catherine became a beneficiary of the foundation on 1st of November 2023.She was six months pregnant.She had previously lost a baby due to prolonged labour,she had refused sugery at that time because her family was financially incapable to pay for a c- section.Eventually when she delivered, the baby came out dead.She had also suffered two miscarriages.She had a miscarriage before the stillbirth and another after. As at the time our team met her she had been told that she would have to deliver through a c- section and she scared that the same thing might happen to her baby again because she was still not financially bouyant to afford a C – section.VSF assured her that her money for the c- section will be taken care of. We immediately sprung into action by taking care of all her medical expenses and sending her feeding allowance in order to ensure she was properly feeding.We also bought all the items for her delivery both baby and mother items. We also checked on her regularly during the pregnancy to find out how she was fairing.On the 12th of February she was admitted to the hospital and the surgery was carried out on the next day .She delivered a bouncing baby girl on the 13th of February 2024.Mother and Child are thriving and our team still keeps in touch with the family.

Miss Ikotun Joy
Pregnancy story of Ikotun Joy Mrs Ikotun Joy came on board when she was five months pregnant.She had been suffering infertility for eight years.She was pregnant with twin baby but lost one of the babies due to a domestic accident she had in her house. VSF took care of all her medical bills and also gave her feeding allowance bi- monthly.Two months after signing her she began to complain of severe stomach pain.She was taken to the hospital and admitted for few days.The doctors discovered one of her ovaries was twisting and each time this happens it leads to severe pain.Medicine was prescribed for her in order to relieve the pain and she was discharged. The doctors were also confused about her EDD because she was unsure of her last menstrual date and she gave a wrong date.She suffered from irregular menstrual cycle and sometimes go for months without having her cycle.The Scan gave a later date than her LMP date.Eventualy she fell into labour and was taken to the hospital.The hospital wanted her to have a CS because of her record but she assured them that she could deliver by herself.While observing her in the examination room she delivered right there on the bed.She delivered a baby boy. After her discharge the baby began to have high temperature also the mother’s wound from the tear of delivery began to swell and was not healing as it should.At some point she could no longer walk and even passed out and she had to be revived.They were both rushed to the hospital to seek medical care.The foundation also took care of all the bills.After spending some days in the hospital they were discharged.Mother and baby are doing well.

Master Eriifeoluwasimi Oluwaseyifunmi Ajayi
Mrs Ajayi Esther came on board when she was six months pregnant.She had previously suffered two miscarriages.She became a beneficiary on the 13th of December 2023.The foundation paid for all her medical bills and she received bi- monthly allowance and delivery bag containing various baby and mother items. When she was 41weeks gone in the pregnancy the doctors advised that she should be induced to deliver the baby.She was admitted into the hospital and was induced later in the night.She delivered early hours of the following day.She happened to be rhesus negative.Lmmittle wonder she had recurrent miscarriages. The baby’s blood was collected for test and it was discovered that he is rhesus positive hence the need for a rhogam injection.The foundation ensured that she received the rhogam injection after delivery of her baby to prevent future miscarriages.She delivered a bouncing baby boy Mother and child are healthy and our team maintain contact with the family.

Miss Blessing Iremide Oluwaseun Mattew
Mrs Matthew Abiodun came on board when she was five months pregnant.She previously suffered a stillbirth.The foundation bagan a documentary series with her on her pregnancy journey.We also ensured she received feeding allowance bi- monthly.Two months after signing her we received a call from her informing us that she has put to bed a baby girl two days earlier.It was such a shock to us as we weren’t expecting her to deliver not until two months after.We rejoiced with her and was grateful for safe delivery.We aslo gave her post delivery fee.Mother and baby are doing fine.The foundation still maintain contact with her family.

Master Osinachukwu Samuel Ogboru
Mrs Ogboru Chineye was signed into the foundation on the 18th of January 2024.She was five months pregnant.She had previously suffered three miscarriages.She received feeding allowance bi-monthly from the foundation.The foundation also paid for all her medical bills.We also gave her delivery bag containing various baby and mother items.Two weeks to her delivery date she fell into labour and was taken to the hospital in the evening.She put to bed at the night time.When the baby was brought out he was stressed because of the labour process.The baby had breathing difficulty.The baby was placed on oxygen all through the night till the next morning.By the next morning the baby was fine.They were discharged two days after.

Mrs Ayodele Oluwatosin came on board when she was 31 weeks pregnant.She had previously endured two miscarriages.The foundation took up all her medical bills and provided her feeding allowance.She also received delivery items from the foundation.On the 5th of April she fell into labour and was taken to the hospital,few hours later she delivered a bouncing baby girl.Mother and baby are thriving

Master Temidayo Emmanuel Kolawole
Mrs Kolawole Oluwaseun was signed on 28th January 2024. She was five months pregnant. She had previously suffered two miscarriages. The foundation sponsored all her medical bills and gave her a feeding allowance as well as delivery bag.When she was 34 weeks into the pregnancy she began to bleed. She went to the hospital and was admitted. Several scans were carried out. Initially, the baby was doing fine but when the bleeding continued it began to affect the baby. This led to her having an emergency c-section. She delivered a baby boy.

Miss Opetope Ariana Omosagba
Mrs Omosagba Idowu became a beneficiary on 22nd of February 2024.She was seven months pregnant.She had previously suffered two miscarriages.The foundation paid for all her medical bills during the pregnancy,at delivery and post delivery care.The doctor told her that she may not be able to have a natural birth due to her small cervix and she would require a c- section to deliver her baby. We received an emergency call from her on a Monday morning informing us that she was in labour and was at the hospital.Our team swung into action and arrived at the hospital to pay for the surgery and other items needed for the surgery.The surgery didn’t take place not until late in the night.Our team waited till night to witness the birth of the baby.At around past 8pm she was wheeled into the theater and the baby was brought at about 9pm.She delivered a baby girl.Mother and child are doing well

Miss Jahnifemi Iremide Adenuga
Mrs Adenuga Bukola came on board when she was six months pregnant. She had previously suffered four miscarriages. The foundation took care of all her medical bills and gave her feeding allowance regularly. When it was almost time for her delivery the doctors advised she should give birth through C-section because they believed it would guarantee a better chance of a safe delivery considering her past experiences. The surgery was scheduled for the 2nd of May, but when it was about her turn an emergency surgery came up which lasted for a long time as a result her surgery was postponed till the next day. The doctor on shift the next day refused to perform the surgery without blood donation but because of our beneficiary belief, she refused to agree to those terms. An argument ensued and she was asked to go to another hospital facility to deliver her baby but fortunately, another doctor came the following Monday and agreed to do it without the blood donation.VSF paid for the surgery and after-surgery bills. The surgery was successful and she delivered a bouncing baby girl.

Miss Oluwaseganmidogo Oluwadolapo Oluwashina
Mrs. Oluwashina Christiana became a beneficiary when she attended our sensitisation outreach at the University of Medical Science Teaching hospital Akure. Although she was a month pregnant at that time.When she was four months pregnant she was signed as a beneficiary into the foundation.She had previously suffered three miscarriages.We began a documentary series with her on her journey through pregnancy. We paid all her hospital bills and she also received a feeding allowance from the foundation bi-monthly. At exactly nine months she fell into labour and the doctors decided it will be best for her to have a c – C-section to deliver the baby. The foundation paid for the C-section and the after-treatment. The surgery was successful and she was delivered of a baby girl.Mother and child are doing well.

Master Anjolaoluwa David Faalodun
Aruna Abimbola who previously suffered 2 miscarriages and was taken on as a beneficiary at 7 months went into labour on 12th July 2024. She was told from the start that she would be undergoing a C-section but because she wasn’t booked for it earlier, she was asked to attempt normal delivery. She was admitted at 4cm. However, her contractions were not progressing well. After giving normal delivery a trial for two days, she was eventually wheeled for Cs on the third day and was delivered of a baby boy on July 14, 2024. After delivery, she and the baby were admitted for treatment and were discharged on 20th July 2024.

Master Zaheerudeen Adahize Mustapha
Mrs Mustapha Khadijat became a beneficiary when she was six months pregnant. She had previously experienced a stillbirth and an ectopic pregnancy. After moving to Akure, she received bi-monthly feeding support, regular check-ins and the hospital items needed for delivery. At 36 weeks she went into labour and, when labour did not progress and the baby was in distress, an emergency Caesarean section was performed. VSF paid the surgery and related medical expenses. The latest programme register records that Zaheerudeen later died at 18 months. We remember his life with care and hold his family in our thoughts.

Mrs Ayanran Olabisi came on board when she was five months pregnant.She had previously endured two miscarriages.Our team checked on her regularly and also educated her on the likely causes of miscarriages to prevent having another miscarriage.VSF also ensured she ate good food by giving her bi monthly feeding allowance.She also received from the foundation delivery item bag.A week to her EDD she started to have contractions as a result she was admitted in the hospital with the hope that she will progress into labour. After spending three days at the hospital and the labour didn’t progress an emergency Cesearian Section was arranged for her.VSF paid for all her medical expenses including the CS fee.The surgery was successful and she delivered a baby girl.Mother and child are doing well

Master Victory Samson Amuda
Mrs Amuda Mercy suffered infertility for Seventeen agonizing years .She got pregnant immediately after marriage but had a miscarriage and since that time she couldn’t conceive.It was later discovered that the baby that she lost then was carrying a positive rhesus while she was a negative rhesus.She didn’t receive the proper medical treatment to prevent her from loosing future pregnancy.This led to her being infertile for seventeen years. God showed her Mercy and she became pregnant again but not without many obastacles. Mrs Amuda became a beneficiary when she was almost Seven months pregnant. Aside being pregnant she was also suffering from Ulcer and had fibroid.VSF paid for all her medication and hospital bills and various scans she had to carry out.We also made sure she ate good food by providing her feeding allowance bi-monthly. After a month of feeding her the baby’s weight jumped from less than 1kg to 3kg.She also received all the items for delivery from the foundation. As a result of her medical condition doctors advised that she should undergo a Cesearian Section. She was admitted at the hospital at 40 weeks and the surgery was performed the following day.The surgery was a success, the fibroid was also removed and she delivered a bouncing baby boy. VSF paid for the surgery.Mother and Child are doing fine.

Miss Ayomiposi Mirabelle Arokuyu
Mrs Arokuyu Abimbola became a beneficiary on the 24th of June 2024.She was six months pregnant.She had previously suffered a miscarriage and a stillbirth.The foundation ensured she received regular feeding allowance, she also received delivery bag items containing items for both mother and child to ensure a smooth delivery.Few weeks to her expected date of delivery,her water broke on the eve of a Sunday.She was rushed to the hospital and upon examination the doctors decided to opt for a Cesearian Section to bring the baby out.The surgery was done and she delivered a bouncing baby girl.The foundation is glad to be a part of her success story to Motherhood
